It is with profound sadness and sorrow that the family of Rob (Robin Charles) Woollam announces his passing on November 12th, 2021.
Rob died at home, holding his wife’s hand, surrounded by his brothers and stepson, after a short and courageous battle with metastatic brain cancer.
Rob will always be loved by his wife, Katia; his children Derek (Jen), Julianne (Dan), and Phil (Marisa); his step-children, Alexandre and Jonathan; his grandchildren, Lucas, Claire, Sadie, and Ava; his brothers Chris (Laura) and Mark (Kay); as well as his nieces and nephews, Alexander (Laura), Kristin (David), Tristan (Lisa), and Glyn. He will be dearly missed by many friends, some of whom he’s remained close to since high school.
Rob practiced family medicine in Mississauga for almost 35 years before retiring on his beloved horse farm in Erin. During the second half of his medical career, he focused more of his time on mental illness and addiction counselling. He continued to support many patients and friends in their journey towards recovery until very recently.
Rob always said he was a doctor turned farmer. He didn’t ride horses but loved riding his tractors. He didn’t know farming but developed a passion for farm work. He loved and respected nature but couldn’t wait to take down trees and turn them into firewood. Rob was a scientist by training but a poet at heart. He was fascinated by night skies and quantum physics. He was an avid canoe paddler and a big football fan. He loved Dickens, Rushdie and the Rolling Stones. We got the blues for you.
Friends will be received at MacIntyre Family Funeral Home, 5399 Wellington Road 52, Erin on Tuesday November 16, 2021 from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Special words of remembrance will be shared at 4:30 p.m. Guests must be double vaccinated in order to attend
