Lois Kathleen (Clayton) McFee

Passed away peacefully on October 10, 2020 at Guelph General Hospital at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Ross (2003).  Dear mother of Rae McFee (Louise) and Gloria Tibben (John). Cherished grandmother of Craig McFee (Tracy) and Jennifer Slater (Mike).  Adored great-grandmother of William and Leo Slater.  Survived by her sister-in-law Violet Clayton. Predeceased by her brothers Ralph and Lloyd Clayton, brothers-in-law Archie McFee and Dougal (Eunice) McFee, sisters-in-law Kay Baldwin (Jack) and Meryle Brindle (Peter).

Lois was born on July 11, 1925 in Grand Valley, Ontario to Fred and Lillie Clayton. Lois and Ross were married on March 12, 1949 in Hillsburgh where they raised their family.  They operated McFee Hardware on Main Street in Hillsburgh until 1968.  Lois went to Conestoga College and graduated with a diploma in bookkeeping which led to a long career as the bookkeeper for Morette’s Furniture.  Throughout the years Lois and Ross travelled visiting places such as Hawaii, Jamaica, California and Tuktoyaktuk. Lois was a wonderful and lovely person who will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her family.  The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Arbor Trails in Guelph where Lois spent the last 6 years of her life.

Arrangements have been entrusted to MacIntyre Family Funeral Home, 5399 Wellington Road 52, Erin, Ontario.  A private funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday October 15, 2020.  Cremation will follow with interment at Huxley Cemetery, Hillsburgh.  For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or The Foundation of The Guelph General Hospital.  You may send the family a condolence at www.macintyrefamilyfuneralhome.com
