Jean Fines Obituary

After a long courageous battle with lung disease, Jean passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 28th at The Pines in Bracebridge.  Jean is lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Richard Fines, their daughter Victoria (David Scott), their grandsons Jonathan and Michael Taylor (Jessica) and their great-grandson Paul.  Also fondly remembered by her brothers, John and Hugh Jackson, her brother-in-law Bill Fines and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Jean is pre-deceased by her parents, Alex and Mary Jackson, brother Don Jackson, son-in-law Paul Taylor and sisters-in-law Marg, Glenna and Lynda.

Jean was raised on a farm in Erin Township.  Before starting a family, she worked for Bell as an operator in Shelburne.  During most of her married life she lived in Orangeville and then later retired to Muskoka.  She loved to travel, spend time playing with her grandsons and enjoying the outdoors with Richard by her side.

Jean is resting at MacIntyre Family Funeral Home, 5399 Main Street S, Erin.   Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a private friends and family visitation and service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021, with the interment to follow at Erin Union Cemetery just down the road.  Donations in Jean’s memory can be made to The Lung Association of Canada, Muskoka Algonquin HealthCare or a charity of your choice.  Cards will be available at the funeral home or you may send the family a condolence at www.macintyrefamilyfuneralhome.com
